My cousin has a child who is 4-years-old. She was arrested for forgery and sentenced to 3 years with early release in late 2015. She owes about 230.00 back child support to her child’s father. He is now asking for his wife to be able to adopt the child. My cousin just received papers of a court date for March 27th, 2014 for adoption of this minor child. Can this be legally done and what are the mother’s rights? This is in the state of Indiana.

I have an 11-year-old son who has been diagnosed with bi-polar and ADHD. He’s been on a combination of medication since he was 5-years-old. I have sole decision making and primary custody. His father has visitation every other week during the school year and extended time during breaks. 3 years ago, his father started refusing to provide our son with his medication during his visits. We have seen a family judge 3 times and he has been told every time that he must get a prescription, fill it, and insure my son is taking it.That’s not happening. I’ve called child protective services and they said it’s not harming him physically therefore they can’t investigate. The constant on and off of medication is not only dangerous but it’s negating treatment, he’s unstable. I would like to know if there’s a way besides family court to fix this. My son recognizes that he needs his medication and begs not to go to his dads without it. Sending my son with the medication doesn’t work. I’ve tried several times and it causes a whole other set of problems and he still doesn’t get to take it. The older he gets the more serious this is getting because of the instability. His disorder makes him a danger to himself and others. I’m trying to find help before it’s to late.
My daughters live in Puerto Rico. Their mother has court on the 20th and there is a possibility that she may go to jail. How can I obtain custody of my girls if I live in Texas?
I share joint custody of my daughter with my ex-husband. He has not seen her for over 2 years nor talked to her for 3 months. He doesn’t try to see her at all even when he lived 5 miles away from us. He pays child support because it is court ordered. He keeps changing addresses and cellphone numbers and I cannot get hold of him. I have cancelled vacations before because he won’t give me an authorization to take our daughter and now he wont let me get a passport for her. What can I do? Can I get sole custody WITH visitation rights? Is that ground enough to file, and if so, what are my chances of getting sole custody? I need help. 🙁
A little over 5 years ago, I met my ex-husband. I was 6-months pregnant with my now 5-year-old daughter. He now wants custody of my child even though she has lived with me since birth. He is on her birth certificate as the biological father and wants to be in her life. Can I file a paternity action against my ex-husband to establish that he is not the father of my daughter in order for me to retain sole custody?

Can my 17-year-old son refuse to spend time with his father when he’s being verbally abusive? The father of my children has a history of being verbally and emotionally abusive. My question is about a piece of property I inherited from my aunt. A portion of the original parcel in question was sold to an individual who in turn sold it to several commercial companies and a Hardee’s restaurant was built on the lot closest to her house(approx 20+ years ago). Hardee’s built a retaining pond/ditch that borders the backyard of my aunt’s house. Due to a recent survey of the commercial property behind Hardee’s we discovered the drainage ditch is on our property. Since construction of the Hardee’s we have always had drainage issues – rivers of water running through yard. The drainage pond/ditch is also an eyesore with trash and debris scattered in it. Do we have any grounds to sue the Hardee’s owners in an attempt to get them to close this drainage pond/ditch and to collect a usage fee of this property for the last 20+ years?
