Can my ex file for retroactive active child support from 1996 to the present?
My girlfriend and I are about to be married. We both have children from previous marriages. I pay child support for my 2 children, but my girlfriend’s ex hasn’t paid anything despite having a child support order to do so. What can we do to get him to pay?
My fiance is disabled and has a difficult time holding down a job. He’s been placed in jail for non-payment of child support. Is this a violation of his rights?
My son’s father started a child support case after I opened mine but his was taken to court first and was granted in the amount of 154.00 a month for him to pay. He joined the army 2 months after the child support was order but he hasn’t reported anything to DHR and his child support payments have been the same since Oct. 2008 and he’s also leaving for Iraq soon.
I placed a child support order in New York City Family court against my husband. Recently we have settled the matter privately and I would like to take to dismiss the case and any arrears that he has. Can I do this by simply going to the court and asking them to close the case against him that we would prefer to handle the matter privately without court or goverment intrusion?
My ex refuses to let me see our son, she also refuses to let me talk to our son.I pay child support through deductions from my weekly paycheck. I am in arrears, but I do have the right to talk to my son and see him. Can I sue for pain and suffering damages?
My childs father is currently ordered to pay me 568.00 a month in child support. Me and the father talk pretty regular so he informs me of how much is taken out of his check and from what he tells me..they are taking out almost the full amount but i’m not receiving half of that money on my end in support. I honestly was receiving more from him before the support than what i’m receiving now and that is so backwards. I feel like now i’m being cheated..like i made a mistake putting him on child support in the first place. My question is why are they taking out more than i’m receiving?
My neighbor runs a large landscaping business on two residentially zoned contiguous parcels behind my property. He is allowed to operate a business on these parcels by the Township because one of the parcels is considered grandfathered-in with non-conforming business zoning. Although this landscaping business has direct access to a road behind his property which runs through a neighborhood, all his traffic uses my driveway, which I share with a neighbor on the east side. My family and I have been harassed and intimidated since the day we moved in five years ago with four police reports to prove this. My question, how do I get back control of my driveway and ideally, make the business go out the other entrance?
My daughter’s dad and I had an argument over the holiday’s and I finally called him to see what was going on and he said that he wanted me to file something so that he could sign off his rights. What kind of information can you give me so that I can prove to him that this is not an option? And what exactly could he do if he took me to court to try and sign off his rights and not pay child support?
