I am emailing you because I am having problems with my ex-wife and her interpretation of the divorce papers. I am having problems with her being late when I drop off the kids and occasionally when I pick them up (in the past, I have waited hours for drop off). I sent a summer schedule in December of 2013 (which is due on or before May 1st) and I can’t get her to acknowledge or respond to even though I have proof she has read it.
If she does move my daughter 7 hours away, is it her responsibility to make sure I still get my 100 days per year with my daughter?
My cousin has been battling his ex wife and the visitation of his three children for some time now.. Over the past few years, he has been through several attorneys and none have really helped in any way.. His current attorney has actually failed to file papers many times, and he now has no documentation of when his visitations are supposed to be.
I was incarcerated in 2005 for attempted murder, during which my wife divorced me. Since being released, my ex-wife has filed to raise my child support (which I have no problem with), and she is attempting to control my visitations. Is this something that will stand in court?
My cousin has a child who is 4-years-old. She was arrested for forgery and sentenced to 3 years with early release in late 2015. She owes about 230.00 back child support to her child’s father. He is now asking for his wife to be able to adopt the child. My cousin just received papers of a court date for March 27th, 2014 for adoption of this minor child. Can this be legally done and what are the mother’s rights? This is in the state of Indiana.
I have an 11-year-old son who has been diagnosed with bi-polar and ADHD. He’s been on a combination of medication since he was 5-years-old. I have sole decision making and primary custody. His father has visitation every other week during the school year and extended time during breaks. 3 years ago, his father started refusing to provide our son with his medication during his visits. We have seen a family judge 3 times and he has been told every time that he must get a prescription, fill it, and insure my son is taking it.That’s not happening. I’ve called child protective services and they said it’s not harming him physically therefore they can’t investigate. The constant on and off of medication is not only dangerous but it’s negating treatment, he’s unstable. I would like to know if there’s a way besides family court to fix this. My son recognizes that he needs his medication and begs not to go to his dads without it. Sending my son with the medication doesn’t work. I’ve tried several times and it causes a whole other set of problems and he still doesn’t get to take it. The older he gets the more serious this is getting because of the instability. His disorder makes him a danger to himself and others. I’m trying to find help before it’s to late.
My daughters live in Puerto Rico. Their mother has court on the 20th and there is a possibility that she may go to jail. How can I obtain custody of my girls if I live in Texas?
I share joint custody of my daughter with my ex-husband. He has not seen her for over 2 years nor talked to her for 3 months. He doesn’t try to see her at all even when he lived 5 miles away from us. He pays child support because it is court ordered. He keeps changing addresses and cellphone numbers and I cannot get hold of him. I have cancelled vacations before because he won’t give me an authorization to take our daughter and now he wont let me get a passport for her. What can I do? Can I get sole custody WITH visitation rights? Is that ground enough to file, and if so, what are my chances of getting sole custody? I need help. 🙁
A little over 5 years ago, I met my ex-husband. I was 6-months pregnant with my now 5-year-old daughter. He now wants custody of my child even though she has lived with me since birth. He is on her birth certificate as the biological father and wants to be in her life. Can I file a paternity action against my ex-husband to establish that he is not the father of my daughter in order for me to retain sole custody?
