I want to know what I need to do to get full custody of my 10 year old sister. She is now living with both parents (California) and because of money issues they are both going to move out of the country (Mexico). I want her to stay here with me and finish school.
Current Situation: I have 50/50 custody with my ex-husband with our ten year old son. During the last custody case, which ended in 2009, the difference between us as parents in custody is that the court order reads “child shall go to school in mother’s school district because father is more focused on negative attention towards mom than welfare of the child” (from 730 evaluator).
A good friend of mine up and moved from Abilene, KS to Wichita, KS. She has 3 children which she has/had (not sure of the exact case) joint custody. The father of her kids, her ex-husband, reported them as abandoned when she dropped them off at his parent’s house, where they normally stay when she was unable to watch them due to her schedule. She has since moved back to Abilene, KS, after realizing she made a mistake.
My son receives SSI benefits in the State of New York. What are his rights, regarding visitation when not seeking custody? He also has earnings from his job and reports this to SSI. Will he then be responsible to pay child support by having his wages garnished?
I have always lived in California, yesterday I received a letter from the office of the Attorney General for the state of Texas notifying me that my child support case (which I was unaware of) was moved to a new office. This is the only communication I’ve ever received from them.
My ex-wife has moved to Iowa with our child from Virginia, where we lived for several years and where our child was born. She had permission from the court to move and has lived in Iowa for about 3 months now. I did not know that I could have prevented her from taking our child out of Virginia until now. Is there anything at this point I can do to get my child back with me in Virginia?
My husband’s 7 year old daughter lives with his ex-wife and her new husband and kids. It was recently brought to everyone’s attention that her 11-year old step-brother may have sexually assaulted her. We are not able to get a hold of the mother to find out what is going on. We are very worried about his daughter.
Is there any chance or are there any cases that allow a male sex offender to get custody of his male son because the mother can be proved to be unfit by alcoholic violent rages. Scared for my son and my own safety.
I am going through a divorce which has been going on for one year now. Christmas Eve was part of my week with my children, my wife called the police and instructed the police that she has temporary custody and wants to have her children back. As I was talking with the police officer inside my house, my mother-in-law opened my already shut front door and called for my three year old son.
I live in SC and by law my husband and I have to wait 1 year before we can file for our divorce. We have a 4 year old daughter who lives with me and has lived with me since our separation. Can I keep my daughter from seeing her father if I have proof of drug abuse and he has not tried to see her but 5 times during the 11 months we have lived separately?
