I have an angry tenant who is threatening to turn me into the IRS because I have a cash, or check made out to cash. policy for collecting rent. This apartment is in the basement of my home and tenants have to walk thru my mud room / laundry to get to the apartment door. The rent is 50 a month. Would the IRS take such menial case on as this?
We have just found out that the property we rent is a reverse mortgage on the home. Is our lease still good or can we get out of the lease since they are breaking the law? We do not want to be a part of their scam.
I have a question about the paving of roads. I live in Kentucky, and I live in a triplex. In fact I live on a street made up of duplex’s and triplex’s. The road I live on is black top, and all driveways leading to the road are black top. Except mine. Its gravel. There is access to the gravel driveway for the six (including mine) apartments. It has been this way for about eight years. I was told when I first moved in that the driveway would be black topped.
My lease ended June 30 and on July 4 I received an email from my former landlord stating that I had caused a bedbug infestation in the apartment above and that I would be responsible to pay the 000 exterminator bill. I was not aware there were bedbugs in my apartment. (There had been a roach problem which was present before I moved into the unit). I had lived in the unit since Sept 2010 and the new tenants living in the unit above me moved into the building in April/May of this year. I asked how they knew it was my apartment that caused the bedbugs and not another unit. I have thoroughly searched through my belongings including my mattress and one sofa that I moved with and have found no evidence of bedbug activity.
I am a member of a volunteer fire company within a village in New York. We are a part of a fire department that has two fire companies. The members of our fire company purchased our fire house for some time now. So our members own and maintain our fire house as well as the property. The other fire company of the department had our village build them a new fire house which the village owns and maintains. Since we own our fire house the village pays us rent for where the fire trucks and other fire equipment that the village owns is kept. This is because an agreement of a lease was signed a long time ago by members of our company and the village. Due to inflation and rising costs the amount we receive from the village is not enough to cover the cost of maintaining the fire trucks and equipment.
I live in Arizona and have gotten bed bugs 4 times now from the people that live below me. Told management about it all 4 times they said they were making this family move because they keep bring things in from the dumpster area well they still live here. Reported the problem to the health department and they told me they spoke to management and management was going to have my apartment inspected for infestation.
I have suspicions that my apartment unit has mold and/or water damage and my apartment complex knew about it and rented the unit to me and my mother anyways. I’m not sure if I should bring the issue back up to the complex because I don’t want them to just sent out their maintenance team to get rid of evidence against them. Below is what has happened leading up until this time.
We live in a upscale apartment complex in Virginia. We moved in to the complex 5 months ago and one the reasons for our choice was because the parking and building entrance were secure. The parking was gated with a key fob entry and the building entrance was behind this gate with a entry door that uses the same key fob.
I have been renting to own a home for the past year and a half. The home owners got divorced and the husband started hinting about the wife wanting out of the home loan and put a few hints out about wanting us to just buy out the house. It was already more than we could afford so we just moved out. The house was in poor shape when we moved in and now the owner is threatening to sue us unless we get the house back to what he is saying was the condition it was in when we moved in.
I rent a home and my landlord just rented another home next door to me. A tree fell and almost hit his new tenants car, so now my/our landlord said she is allowed to park/use my driveway, which is not part of her home, it is on my property. Can he allow her/anyone to park in my driveway and upset my privacy?
