We (the buyers) put a 000 deposit and signed docs with a Hubbard Clause (sell our house first) on a house in RI. The broker representing the sellers, we find out later, never faxed the documents to them because they’re out of state. But an email from the broker says they agree to the deal.
I was involved in a car accident where the other driver was at fault for not yielding the right of way on a left turn. The driver has no driver’s license and there is no insurance on the vehicle. The driver is not the owner of the vehicle. I am planning on taking this to small claims courts because unfortunately I do not have uninsured motorist coverage. Can I sue both the driver and the owner of the vehicle?
My best friend and I purchased a house four years ago as tenants-in-common. We each put equal down payments, pay half of the mortgage, taxes and insurance (50/50). I have had the exclusive use to live in the home with my son. I have been and am solely responsible for all upkeep, repairs and upgrades. My partner (no longer friend) now demands that I pay more money (to cover my exclusive use) or move out and rent the property for a loss.
I have road construction going on in front of my house. The construction foreman told me i can’t use my driveway for a couple of days and will have to park in the(under construction)street. Can they make me park in the street and keep me from using my driveway and garage to park my car?
Hi. I bought a house recently and was trying to refinance it when the bank called and said we would have to get an environmental study done on the property because there is a conveyance on the deed that says for he installation, maintenance, and repair of gas tank and lines. I cannot find where this tank may have been and have researched the deed back 60 years to where it was a farm but found out nothing else about the conveyance and if there was a tank of any kind put underground.
My mother-in-law recently had a fall in the garage of our rented home. While leaving our home, she walked out into our dark garage. There is a light, but she did not turn it on. We didn’t know that she didn’t turn the light on until we heard her fall. She fell by tripping over a crate that was against the garage wall.
My mother took out a home equity loan 5 years ago. She quit claimed the deed with joint tenants with rights of survivorship January 2012 to me. Am I responsible, after she dies, for the equity loan?
My mother wants to will me some land, do I have to paid any inheritance taxes ? She lives in FL and I live in SC where the land is.
I am a naturist living in Southampton, New York on the eastern end of Long Island. Unfortunately, there are virtually no places near me (ie resorts) that offer this nude luxury so I’d have to travel far to do this. But my backyard is quite private. It would seem as though standing in my backyard, no one would be able to see me (unless maybe they were trying hard). You wouldn’t be able to see me from the public street either.
Can owner in common alter their half of electrical panel without consent of other party? If the electrical system is condemned can it then be altered for necessary repairs to bring up to code?
