In California, is it legal for the County to demand a grant of easement, in exchange for having our house plans approved, or a building permit issued? They already have a forty-foot easement, but they said they decided they need 4 more feet.
There is a lane that runs between my neighbor and I. He owns (according to survey on my deed) from the middle of the lane towards his house and I own (according to survey on my deed) from the middle of the lane towards my house. The lane leads to an old house that is visited 2 or 3 times a year.
My septic field is on an neighbor’s easement. A large tree on his property fell onto the septic easement and is blocking access to the field, preventing the county’s annual inspection and renewal of my permit.
I lease a lot on a lake and have a circle driveway in front of my house. Someone built a house next to my house 5 years ago and now the city says that I have to share this driveway with this person (they have their own driveway).
I’m renting a house on the water with a dock. The owner also has an apartment above a garage in front of the main house. These are two separate living quarters. We asked multiple times to make sure whoever rents the apartment in front does not have access to the dock and water. We have teenage girls and boys who use the backyard and wanted a safe and private place for them to hang out.
I live in a small community with a POA. Our plat is bordered by a public easement which we maintain. Between the road and the sidewalk there are 4 trees that are dead and we are being pressured by the POA to remove and replace these trees.
I am a resident of Tennessee. I am the dominant tenement of an easement titled to my property. The easement was established in 1981 and has followed with every sale of the property up to and including when I purchased it.
How can I make my neighbor pay their share of expense toward the lane that we both use to get to the main road. We live at the end of the dirt road and have maintained it for the last eight years.
Is there a county or state law that specifies a requirement for an easement between a townhome or single home properties for emergency access as well as county needs? I currently live in a townhome in the middle of the block and a wooden fence is shared by all townhomes through the backyard.
