‘My car was broken into while I was in the store shopping. Property was stolen from my car. Can I hold that particular business responsible for my stolen items. There were no park at your own risk sign on business.’

Question: There may be a claim against whoever runs the parking lot in which your car was parked, for failure to provide adequate security. This will depend on a lot of facts and the history of the place. For example, if your car was one of dozens broken into and the store did nothing to protect the shoppers, then you MIGHT (depending on which state’s laws apply) have a claim.
