“A judge granted our divorce 10 years ago but I do not think my ex ever paid the filing fees because I haven’t ever received the paperwork. Are we divorced? If not, can I go in and pay the fee and make it final?”
Even though you have not received anything in writing, your divorce could have gone through, or may just be waiting for the final fee. Contact the county where you filed and ask them what is the status of your divorce case, and if there are any outstanding fees. You could always ask for a copy of the order granting your divorce (likely for a small fee), which may be beneficial should you wish to remarry.
