My husband has had full custody of my step-son for the past two years. He will be three-years-old in August. The maternal grandparents took emergency custody when he was six-weeks-old due to the birth mother being in legal trouble. We found out that he was my husband’s son when he was almost five-months-old and had to develop a relationship with him over a six month period before custody could be determined.
My divorce was filed in Hawaii and I now live in Kentucky. I was wondering if it’s possible to get modification done concerning visitation. My ex-husband is in the Army and is now stationed in Italy. He has also remarried. He wants to see my daughter this summer, but I am afraid for her to fly overseas with all the problems going on in Europe and the Middle East.
My boyfriend has full legal custody of his 5-year-old daughter. The child’s mother is not happy about this even though she has not been in her daughter’s life. My boy recently moved to Washington with his daughter from California. His custody papers say that the mother can have reasonable visit with the child within her father’s standards.
We live in the State of Missouri. My husband’s ex lives in Texas. My husband has a disability and has been unable to work for the last four years (we are in the process of obtaining disability). There is no legal court custody of my husband’s two children, although there has been a support order set up. In the time the orders been set, we’ve received 00.
My son-in-law is paying child support for 3 children. He has two children with his current wife. They have no car and are staying with relatives while looking for work.
My husband has recently filed papers to get visitation of his 20-month-old daughter. My husband lives in Vermont and the child’s mother lives in Maine. He has never been part of her life, but has tried for the past three to four months to agree with the mother to some type of visitation.
My sister is an addict with a criminal history and has a 10-year old daughter. She has agreed to give me custody of her so I can take care of her. The child’s father lives in a different state and is an addict with a criminal history and has served time.
We currently have an ex-parte temporary child custody order for my husband’s 10-year-old daughter (from his first marriage). The mother had a live in boyfriend who was abusing her for 5 years (we have police reports and PPO’S to prove this). He is currently in jail and will be released in 2 months. We are awaiting our child custody investigation.
My sister and her ex-husband went through a bitter divorce 2 years ago and are residents of South Carolina. He admitted to the court that he committed adultery (actually 3 times before the divorce was final.) They have 3 kids (1 boy and 2 girls) between them. He remarried a couple days after the divorce was final and now he has another step-daughter by marriage, and another girl on the way with his new wife. In the divorce agreement, my sister retained permission to take the kids and move to Nicholson Georgia with my mother.
I live in New Jersey without my son who is 18-years-old. He has one more year of high school and wants to come live with me. I was divorced in 2009 and his mother was given residential custody and has threatened to take me to court if my son refuses to return to her home once summer break is over.
