Upon the death of the custodial parent, my husband’s daughter came to live with him (prior to our marriage) and he called the Texas Attorney General to begin proceedings in order to cease child support. We are now in September 2006 and we are still getting letters saying he is delinquent on his child support.
My husband is taking his ex back to court for contempt. She was supposed to have drug and psycological counseling, parenting counseling and have their daughter in continued therapy. Also she was to assure the court that she would send their daughter to school on a regular basis.
What happens if the custodial mother relocates the children without telling the father?
20 years ago my mother received AFDC for myself and 2 sisters for about 3 years as my Father did not pay child support. The inquiry was to find out the amount she was entitled to as they now want my Mother to pay the State of Wisconsin back for receiving AFDC. My Mother never did receive any child support from my father at this time. Isn’t my father liable to pay this back to the state?
I am a mother of two, living with although not married to their father. What would happen if he died? Would I still be their legal guardian?
In feb.06 his children’s mother died. He went to court for guardianship in July 06, and he was told his rights had been terminated by default. They (DHS) terminated his rights through publication. His tribe (native american) intervened and his children are in the tribes custody.
I live in New Jersey and my three year old daughter’s father lives Illionois. He has yet to file for visitation, however, he does not pay me any child support. He also has a past of abusing drugs and alcohol. I am afraid that he would try to run off with her as he can be unstable.
The mother of my child has been ordered by the court to pay child support, she simply will not pay a penny and hasn’t since the baby was born 10 months ago.
The oldest son I will call him Greg, just turned 18. Ot his 18th birthday his biological mother threw a party at her home for him. The adults were all drinking liquor and smoking pot. Greg admitted that he was drinking with his biological mom and that she gave drinks to the 14 year old son as well. We have been told by childrens services that it is not illegal for a parent to give alcohol to their child. He (Greg) said that he would be willing to tell all to a judge if we end up in court over this.
I do not want the courts to decide custody, but I am not ready to come to an agreement with my spouse.
