Laws vary from state-to-state, and in addition every situation is unique, and relevant facts may not be known. The answer to the question posed below may not apply to in your state or to your situation. For legal advice in your state and your situation you should consult with an attorney in your state who is familiar with the rules and laws in your state.

‘A person is arrested for drug trafficking, they then help the police with giving them information that leads to police making a larger bust, the person then has to go to trial for the drug trafficking charges, will the fact that they helped the police make a much larger bust help or benefit them any at all in court?’

Question: It certainly can help, but typically that deal is cut before they help make the bigger bust, i.e. “I will help you make the bigger bust in exchange for a lesser charge.” But even after the fact, it certainly can help, and their defense attorney should be made aware of the fact that they assisted in the larger bust.
