I made contact with her soon after this and learned that she was pregnant and believed it was his and was releasing the baby for adoption. She is living in an Adoption Network apartment in southern California. We expressed interest in adopting the baby and she mutually agreed that she would like for us to adopt the baby, but she needed to first check with her case worker.

Back story: February 15th 1993 I had sex with a women (protection used) it was a one night stand. Four months later she meets up with me again, tells me she is pregnant and it is mine. I step up, provide financial support, went to the baby shower, listened to her on the phone, etc. Then in August she moved to Texas (I am in Arizona) - I get a call in late September that she is in labor and needs me to come to Texas - at this point the dates didn't match up, so I requested a paternity test - provided her with all my information (full name, DOB, SSN, employer, etc.) but told her I was not sending any more money until paternity was established.

My husbands daughter is 18 years old and should be graduating this month, however due to lack of credits she may possibly not graduate. Our court order says support until 19 or graduation. We live in California. I understand the reason for the law as there are plenty of kids in school that are 18. However does this apply to a child who have dropped out or flunked out and has no intention of returning?

My bank no longer returns originals of cheques which have cleared my account. Instead, it encloses a photocopy of the face of the cheque. Recently I asked for the original, since I had endorsed the back 'in full settlement' of a debt . The check was in the agreed-upon sum. I was shocked to learn that the bank destroys the original checks! The bank assured me, however, that the photocopy provided me by the bank was sufficient evidence to take to court, should the payee dispute the issue.

I have primary custody but my ex took our daughter on April 5th for his Easter visitation and has not returned her as of yet. Rosenberg police will not do a civil standby - I have limited funds because I just started my new job 2 weeks ago and have not even gotten my 1st paycheck. How can I get my daughter back? I cannot go to the house of my ex because I am afraid of him.

The police *should* do a civil standby, assuming that you have a court order that spells out exactly when your daughter was to be returned to you. Consider going to the police station with a copy of the order, and asking to speak with the officer in charge, and try to get them to explain why they will not do a civil standby. (It's very important that you show them the order, and that the order be highly specific so that it is very clear that your daughter is supposed to be with you at the time that you are requesting the civil standby.) If your order is specific, and it is clear that your daughter is supposed to be with you, and your ex is keeping her, and if the police will not do the civil standby, try going to the county sheriff's department. If all else fails, have your attorney file an emergency motion with the court as soon as possible and get a court order ordering that your daughter be returned to you.

The people across the street say that the easement is a deeded easement and it is on all of their titles so they have a right to put a dock on the easement. I would not have a problem with that, except that the dock is only about half a foot away from my property line. Are they able to put the dock on the easement legally?
