I wanted to ask what my options are or what I can do regarding my children’s current situation. I pay child support and owe arrears (paying consistently for over two years).
I was 17-years-old when I got pregnant. I have no relationship with my child’s father. Three months after the child was born, I applied for assistance because I wasn’t getting any support from the father, or his family. To make a long story short. I applied for aid and I withheld information about the father. Now he has been slapped with a 0,000 fine on his credit report for back-pay. He wants me to write a letter saying that we reconciled our difference and to drop the case because he wants to do right with the family that he created now. I withheld information about him while applying for aid. I don’t want to comply with his request because it wouldn’t be fair for my child. With the help of my family WE RAISED my child and the father’s relationship with my child is only when it’s convenient for him. I am no longer receiving aid. I haven’t been for years. Now I feel like my past is back to haunt me. Do I have to comply with his request?
I live in North Carolina on a Cherokee Indian Reservation. I recently found a man that I believe to be my biological father. How do I go about acquiring a DNA test to prove that he is my father?
I live in the state of Wisconsin. Is my girlfriend legally obligated to tell me that she was pregnant or had an abortion just days ago? She told me after it was done.
My son is 20 and his girlfriend is 16 and having a baby. She got in trouble for truancy and lives with me, while my son lives with his grandma. They went to Maryland and got married, can they get in trouble?
My wife had an affair four years ago and became pregnant. The father wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. We worked through it all and have a handsome 3 year old boy. I have no interest in taking a paternity test. I’m on the birth certificate as the father. Now out of spite the biological father wants to see our son. He is not a good man by any means. What can he do if anything to make it happen and does he have rights after not wanting anything to do with him?
What can I do if I do not want my husband of 54 years driving my car? My car is in my name, and he took my keys and won’t give them back. I tried calling the police, and they said we can’t do any because you are married.
Property in the State of Missouri was deeded to sons one year before father’s remarriage, using a general warranty deed, now the widow wants the property. Can she do this? She owns two other homes from other marriages and one from the marriage to the sons’ father so she does not need these properties to live on.
In Minnesota…my grandmother’s home was condemned. She was placed into a behavioral health hospital. I was told she could not sign paperwork to make me her power of attorney because she was being held for her mental state. She passed three mental evaluations and is now being held in an assisted living facility; although the court has not ruled her to be mentally competent yet. The land she was living on was hers. For fear the state would take it, a lawyer wrote a quit deed and she signed the property over to me. Is the property officially mine?
