Anne P. Mitchell is a 1992 graduate of Stanford Law
School, and a practicing family law
attorney. She has been involved
in family rights advocacy
since 1987.
Ms. Mitchell, herself a divorced
single parent, is the founder and
executive director of the FREE
Foundation, an organization dedicated
to addressing the issues and concerns
related to father-absence. She
maintains a family law practice in Northern
California, and teaches at Lincoln
School of Law. She is the author of
"The Maternal Bond" (American Journal
of Family Law), and the Dear Esq. advice column.
Ms. Mitchell, a frequent radio and television guest, eloquently and
articulately addresses such issues as bias in the family court
system, the current epidemic of father-absence and its effects on
our nation's children, and false allegations of abuse in the
divorce/custody context.
The advice and information contained in her booklets,
"7 Ways to Ensure Well-Adjusted Kids After Divorce",
"The Truth About False Allegations of Child Abuse" and
"Parental Kidnapping: Prepare for it - Prevent it", have helped
single parents and their families to provide the safe and
balanced environments which children of single parents so
desperately need.
